We Reap We Sow

Depressed about the state of the world? Society reaps what it sows, but it all starts with each of us as individuals. I’ve compiled the following list which I find can be helpful during those times of stress and strain in life. Note: An equivalent for kids can be found here.

We allow our kids to watch unrestricted video content, and are then surprised when our children become addicted and act poorly. We reap what we sow.

We work for an unethical person, enabling him to get rich off of cheating people. We are then confused why we’re depressed about our work. We reap what we sow.

We routinely vote for the “lesser of two evils”, yet are surprised that our country spirals downward election after election, year after year. We reap what we sow.

We brag about pulling one over on another person, yet are surprised when our children cheat and steal.  We reap what we sow.

We routinely do things that we know are wrong but justify it to ourselves since “no one will know” or “everyone else is doing it”.  We will reap what we have sown.

We deceive others with false marketing campaigns because “It’s just business” and then are depressed that the world our children are growing up is unethical.  We reap what we sow.

We treat others we disagree with as enemies while ignoring our own arrogance and judgmental behavior. We then wonder why society is being consumed by hate.  We reap what we sow.
